The Questioning Authority Conference planning began May of 2007, when the officers of SLA decided to develop a regional conference to focus on the issue of authority and authenticity of digital information (including President - Jessie Duverneay, Vice President - Julie Piacentine, Treasurer -Courtney Egan, Secretary - Ray Walling, and Social Chair - Anne Bast). Over the summer and fall, the officers held meetings and worked with their advisors (Maurita Holland and Karen Jordan) to develop the conference. Also, during the fall, chairs for each planning committee were named:
